Veresen Energy’s Hythe Gas Plant was in need of an upgrade to their Control Room. The project expanded, and it was determined that a completely new building should be constructed, and located outside of the blast range of the gas plant. Beairsto & Associates Engineering Ltd. (BASE) was involved from the initial design concepts through to contract administration of the construction for this 9,084 ft2 (844 m2) office. The new site was originally zones Rural Residential and BASE facilitated the rezoning. BASE surveyors and engineers were also engaged to provide the survey, lot grading and storm water management plans. The building incorporates state-of-the-art technology in lighting, communications, and emergency power.

- A Phillip Intellihue Skyribbon LED Lighting System provides state-of-the-art control of lighting levels and intensity
- Rural unserviced lot required septic system and storm pond with connection to hydrant for fire protection
